Duelyst has six playable Factions for you to try, as well as a Neutral Faction:
The Lyonar utilize the Provoke mechanic and high health Minions to create a massive presence on the battlefield. With a large and sturdy army, the Lyonar use the tried and true method of slow and steadily wearing the opponent down. The Lyonar also possess excellent healing abilities that help keeping their Minions and General alive.
The Songhai can be very mobile and aggressive. They have lots of combos and synergy between their spells and units. Superior mobility allows them to outmaneuver opponent’s Minions. They prefer to avoid threats rather than facing them head-on.
The Vetruvian are focused around using creatures with low base stats that have powerful special effects. They excel at creating swarms of small creatures and increasing their strength while also drawing lots of cards. Using debuffs, they can weaken opposing Minions by reducing their Attack or mobility. Another special ability of the Vetruvian is their ability to generate token minions known as Dervishes that they can quickly spawn and buff to gain a huge advantage in the midst of battle.
The Abyssian excel at removing big threats and can generate many small Minions while also having excellent late game threats. Some minions can be used as sacrifices for powerful spells, causing more deaths on the battlefield to fuel spell effects. Additionally, they boast a wide range of removal spells and area control. In return for their ability to control the battlefield, their creatures aren’t very strong up front.
The Magmar are big, slow, and powerful. Once they reach their opponent, their enormous Minions and mighty Artifacts can deal massive damage! They can slowly take over the battlefield through their use of the Grow mechanic, an ability that empowers their minions every single turn. They also handle threats well through a combination of removal, Area-of-Effect cards, and Dispel cards. For anyone facing the Magmar, it’s wise to strike quickly before things get out of control.
The Vanar are skilled at utilizing the battlefield to force their opponents into bad positions. Through a combination of minion blocking and Walls, the Vanar can literally trap their opponents as they begin to overwhelm them with a massive presence on the battlefield.
Minions belonging to the Neutral Faction tell the untold story of the world of Duelyst. Some are mercenaries, weathered veterans of war called to rally behind the banner of another Faction in the most dire of times. Others are wildlife, strategically utilized by the Bloodborn General to turn their natural surroundings into a great asset. Each neutral minion has its own tale to tell, and each is ready to serve your General with unwavering devotion.
